Get a head start of National Recycling Day (Nov. 15) by donating scrap metal this weekend to a local charity. As you finish your fall cleanup, be on the lookout for scrap metal.  You can turn this trash into cash that will help a good cause and clean up the environment.

St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton will hold a community scrap metal drive from 9 am – 6 pm  on  Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10 in the Parish Life Center parking lot, 710 Rickett Rd.

Aluminum, brass, copper, steel, tungsten, iron – almost anything made of metal - and old appliances will be accepted.

Volunteers will be there to help you unload and provide you with a charitable gift receipt for your items. You also may drop off items unassisted on Sunday, Nov. 11.

This biannual scrap metal drive for charity is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Council  7304 and Regal Recycling of Howell and Whitmore Lake. Donations will support events and charities sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Charities supported include Special Ministries of Livingston County, Boy Scout Troop 347, Pregnancy Helpline Clinic and Special Olympics.

If you have an abandoned automobile, truck, bus, or old farm equipment, please call Regal Recycling for FREE pickup: (517) 546-3820. Please mention account code KC7304 when you call.

Can’t make it this weekend? Haul your scrap metal anytime to Regal Recycling in Howell. Mention account code KC7304 or mention St. Pat’s when you visit.
