Hartland Township Revises Ordinance to Streamline Sign Approvals

In order to streamline the signage approval process for businesses, the Hartland Township Board has adopted an amendment that now allows applications to be reviewed and approved by the Planning Department.  As a result of this new zoning ordinance change, application responses can be made in a matter of days because they will not need to go before the Planning Commission

“Signage is an important marketing tool for our businesses,” says Planning Director David Campbell.  “We are committed to expediting the process as much as possible to make this a less cumbersome procedure for business owners.”

The Planning Department also offers complimentary sign consultation prior to submitting a sign permit application.  The consultation is designed to ensure that business owners and their sign contractors have a clear understanding of what is permitted prior to submittal of the formal application.
