Visit Our Cage-free Cat Rooms and Celebrate Adopt a Shelter Cat Month!

June is Adopt A Shelter Cat month and also marks the two-year anniversary of our cage-free cat rooms. We invite you to visit our shelter to celebrate and learn how free-roaming, cage-free rooms help our cats stay happy and healthy until they find homes.

Besides being able to watch birds and enjoy fresh air, the rooms are designed for 6-10 cats, giving them plenty of space to relax and play with feline friends and visitors. The rooms are also beneficial for potential adopters, as they can get a better idea of a cat’s personality and see how they would interact with other cats. It might even convince them to adopt two cats! Overall, these rooms have helped make the shelter a happier, healthier place for cats, adopters, employees and volunteers.

We always have a great selection of pets, so you'll be sure to find at least one or more to win your heart… like Sophie and Sullivan (pictured here) who met and found true love and comfort from each other in one of our cage-free cat rooms while they wait to find a new home!

Sophie had already been waiting a long time at our shelter and just did not seem happy. While she enjoyed the cage-free space, she was still very timid with visitors and even other cats... until she met Sullivan! From the moment Sullivan joined the cage-free group, he seemed to know Sophie needed a friend. The two of them developed a mutual bond of love and friendship and are often found snuggled up close together! Since then, they are both much more relaxed and outgoing with visitors while they wait for someone wonderful to come along and take them home!
