It's a Slow Start

Hartland native Jenna Lassila is on the job hunt after recently graduating from Eastern Michigan University and sharing her story.

Well needless to say, this post is long overdue. I typically would like to post once or twice a week. Dave and I had to make an unexpected trip home for his grandfather's funeral and were gone for an entire week. Then once we came home, the Internet was down. Now, I'm ready to go and excited to blog.

The job search for my career in marketing is still on and in full swing. I feel like I've applied everywhere, which is untrue, but I'm getting really anxious. I keep checking Careerbuilder.com and Monster daily. I've also become an online member for internships in the area. So, I'm checking the Internet daily. I'm still continuing to receive emails for my school about job opportunities in the Ann Arbor area, which really doesn't help me since I am three hours south, but I still look into the opportunity, and see if they have any listings in the Columbus area. I've only been on the hunt for a few weeks, but I'm feeling anxious and nervous. I'm a recent graduate with little job experience. I do have a marketing internship on the resume along with specific courses I've completed and achievements, but sometimes I don't know if that's going to be enough. I've also noticed that many posted jobs require five or more years of experience.

Does anybody know where I can find a company that hires at entry level?

I'm still going to keep my head high and hope for the best. I am going to start attending different webinars so I can be aware of changes and opportunities in the industry. Does anybody have different ideas on how I can help fine-tune my search? Helpful criticism is appreciated.
