A Hartland Librarian Reminds Us About a Free Class on E-readers and Says 'Good Morning, Hartland!'

Did you have a good holiday weekend, I hope? Welcome back to the work week. Here are some tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

She discusses an upcoming event to learn more about how to use an e-reader from 3-4 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Community Room at the main branch, 3688 N Hartland Rd. The cost is free and you can register by visiting the library's website.

1. The weather

Mostly cloudy but dry with a high of about 41 degrees and northeast winds between 6 and 8 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, expect rain (a 90 percent chance) with temperatures only dropping slightly to 39.

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • : $3.14
  • Mobil: $3.29 (cash is 10 cents lower)
  • Shell: $3.39
  • Lowest price at Hickory Ridge and M-59 in Highland: $3.09 at Citgo.
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $2.99 at five stations including three on Owen at U.S. 23.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.14 at Costco, 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd.

3. Hartland school board meets

4. High school journalists published countywide

If you missed it, you can find the latest edition of The Hartland Eagle — Hartland High School's student newspaper — in the Sports section on page 6B of Thursday's Livingston County Daily Press & Argus. The issue includes includes articles about athletics, Black Friday and columns about End of the World mythology and comparing being home-schooled with high school.
