4. Fundraiser for injured Deerfield Township boy raises more than $10K

Some 400 people donated more than $10,000 on Saturday to help 12-year-old Deerfield Township resident Max Bontekoe recover from injuries he suffered in a dirt bike accident in August, according to an article in the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus.

The event was at Spicer Orchards Farm Market and Cider Mill and included music, hog roast and hayrides. The funds will help Max with therapeutic and rehabilitative services needed for his recovery, the newspaper said.

Since the accident, he has had numerous surgeries and is in critical condition at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. He is expected to stay there until at least February, the article said.

5. Hartland Trivia

Despite numerous good guesses no one got — Germany, Hodge, Riggs, Bird, Bitten, Cranston and Franklin were what? Answer: They all were among the many schools that served the area before the Hartland School District was created.

Wednesday's question: What local church first met in 1971 (happy 40 years, BTW) at the and opened its own location in 1985?
