Hartland Senior Selected as Michigan DECA President

Hartland High School senior Ryan Clogg is Michigan DECA's State President.

Here at Patch, we love to regularly spotlight young people in the Hartland community who are successful, talented and just plain awesome.

But we need your help. We know those kids are out there doing great things for and in the community, so let us know about them so we can help spread the word.

Today we feature Hartland High School senior and DECA's state president Ryan Clogg who was recently selected to lead more than 7,000 Michigan high school students.

  • Introduction: Ryan is the son of Troy Clogg and Kathy Carmichael and has attended DECA conferences throughout Michigan, Utah and California. He is very passionate about business and would love for business and friends to come together in life.
  • Achievement: Having recently completed training in Washington D.C., Ryan Clogg, DECA’s State President, is ready to lead over 7,100 Michigan DECA members towards a successful year.
  • Keys to awesomeness: Ryan says he ran for Michigan DECA State Office because “he wanted to help network and connect members with one another. Also to keep the excitement and power of DECA alive.”
Do you know a local young person who deserves applause because he or she shovels the elderly neighbors' driveway? Or perhaps athletic achievements are worth sharing. Everyone deserves attention, and we want to tell these stories. Email nominations to local editor Tatum Ryan at tatum.ryan@patch.com, provide the information shown above and include a photo with names and ages.
