Hartland Girls Swim and Dive Team Members Dip Into Their Season and Say 'Good Morning, Hartland!'

It's Thursday. Here are five tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

1. The weather

More rain — and gasp, even some snow showers — are on the docket after 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service (60 percent chance), with a high of 42 degrees. But don't worry, there shouldn't be an accumulation. The winds should be out of the west southwest between 11 and 15 miles per hour with gusts as high as 23 mph. Tonight, there's a rain/snow chance before 1 a.m. as temperatures dip to around 30 degrees.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • : $3.53
  • Mobil: $3.55 (cash is 10 cents lower)
  • Shell: $3.59
  • Lowest price at Hickory Ridge and M-59 in Highland: $3.43 at Citgo.
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.39 at the Mobil station at N LeRoy and S Long Lake Rd and at the Marathon station at N LeRoy and Glenwood.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.43 at Costco, 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd.

4. Trio charged on the suspicion of shoplifting from Walmart in Hartland

Three men were arraigned Friday on a retail fraud charge in which police say they stole video games from the Walmart in Hartland, according to an article in the Livingston County Daily Press and Argus.

The trio called themselves a "crew," the article quoted police as saying. It also reported the men are suspects in thefts at the Genoa Township Walmart.
