Teen Library Volunteers Teaching at Local Hogwartz Say 'Good Morning, Hartland!'

It's Wednesday and here are some tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

1. The weather

Expect partly sunny skies and temperatures to reach about 26 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Winds will be out of the west northwest between 8 and 16 miles per hour with gusts as high as 22 mph. Tonight, more clouds with a low around 23 as winds from the southwest die down to about 5 and 8 mph.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • : $3.29
  • Mobil: $3.39 (cash is 10 cents lower)
  • Shell: $3.45
  • Lowest price at Hickory Ridge and M-59 in Highland: $3.25 at Citgo.
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.24 at six stations, including four at Owen Road at U.S. 23.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.24 at Costco at 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd.

3. Mid-Holiday Bash features Dragon Wagon 

The bluegrass folk rock band Dragon Wagon as part of the Mid-Holiday Bash at , 1774 Old U.S. 23.

4. Salvation Army of Livingston County mulling new home

The Salvation Army of Livingston County is exploring whether a new facility is needed and its leaders are looking for community input, WHMI-FM (93.5) is reporting.

Its current building in Howell is in need of upgrades and the organization also has to rent out space during the year in order to perform all of its services, the station said.

A feasibility study is underway and those who wish to give input are encouraged to call 517-546-4750.
