Watch Hartland Boy Use New Donated Ramp

Materials and labor were donated by Ford and the UAW to complete a ramp for C.J. Meckes of Hartland.

A crew of five United Auto Workers (UAW) from Ford completed construction on a large ramp outside the home of C.J. Meckes, a first grader at Creekside Elementary who was born with Spina Bifida.

Due to the donations of supplies and labor of the United Auto Workers, Ford and Vice President Jimmy Settles of the National Ford Department and Marty Malloy of the Labor Affairs for Ford Motor Co., the Creekside Elementary first-grader now has the ability to enter his own home independently for the first time in his life.
