Former Hartland Coach and Teacher Dies at Age 65

Visitation for Frank Leppek will be held from 3-8 on Saturday and 1-8 on Sunday at Keehn Funeral Home in Brighton.

Former Hartland High School teacher and basketball coach Frank Leppek, passed away on May 29 at the age of 65.

For more than 19 years, Leppek was a fixture in the Hartland School District and was also the founder of Leppek Nursery and Landscapes, a business he proudly operated with his family, according to his obituary.

In 2011, Leppek Nursery and Landscapes celebrated their 40th anniversary, which Leppek ran with his son, Kory.

According to a previous Brighton Patch story, Leppek began his business in 1971 after taking on landscaping jobs in the summer months to supplement his income.

The landscaping business grew so much that Leppek made the tough decision to leave the job he loved at Hartland High and go full-time running Leppek Landscape.

Leppek is survived by his wife Wendy as well as his children and grandchildren, according to his obituary.
