By Diana Grant (daughter)

Roy Donald Worthy was born on June 10, 1932 in Detroit, MI. He served four years in the United States Air Force in Salina, KS.

He married Ellen Marie Pakkala on March 21, 1953. Roy came from a family of 14 siblings. He worked most of his life as a certified welder.

He was famous for his story telling, and his favorite line of transition was, “The thing of it is.” He enjoyed repurposing old things and giving them away. He also loved flowers and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife, three children, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Up until now he was 81 years old. His final act of living was on November 8, 2013 in his own home.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Salvation Army.
