Lillian Gorke

Passed away Saturday morning October 26, 2013 at the Sanctuary at Woodland in Brighton. She was born on April 17, 1930 in Detroit the daughter of Willian and Rachel (Davis) Moran. On September 15, 1956 she was married to James Gorke in Detroit moving to Garden City. Mr. Gorke preceded her in death on July 30, 2009. Lillian is survived by her children; Donna (Gary) Fox-Primozich, Diann (Bruce) Shott and Daniel (Mary) Gorke. Three grandchildren; James (Jessica) Fox, Rachel Shott, Alana Sharp and three great-grandchildren; Kaytlin Fox, Kristopher Fox and Ryken also survive.

Carmen Estella Stevens


Age 93 of Brighton passed away October 25, 2013. She was born January 27, 1920 a daughter of Rex and Virginia (Bradley) Crout. On April 20, 1940 she was married to Matt L. Stevens who preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Stevens was a member of the Brighton Senior Citizens group, was an avid reader, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving is her daughter, Julie (Fred) Abner; 3 grandchildren: Heidi, Joel, Heather; 4 great grandchildren: Christine, Brian, Olivia, and Lela. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Charity of One’s Choice.

William P. Goudie, Jr. 

William P. Goudie, Jr. “Uncle B”, age 82 of Hartland, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013. He was born September 12, 1931 in Detroit, the son of William P. and Mildred (Dalton) Goudie, Sr. William graduated from Redford High School and attended Culver Military School. He worked for Michigan National Bank and retired after 28 years. He was an avid sports spectator and U of M football fan his entire life; especially enjoyed spending time with his family and being the “life of the party”. William is survived by his nieces, Sandy (Scott) VanEpps of Hartland, Susan Sheldon of Brighton, Jeanne Cole of California and nephew, James (Anne) Goudie III of Hartland. Also great-nieces and great-nephews, Jennifer (Sheldon) Turner, Sarah Sheldon, James P. Goudie, Shawn Steckroth, Elizabeth Goudie, Andrea Goudie, Taylor Cole, Shane VanEpps, Spencer VanEpps and great-great-niece, Sophia Turner. Preceding in death was a brother, James Q. Goudie II.
