In Memoriam: A Dancer, Actor, Yogi, Photographer and Motivational Speaker

These obituaries were published on the websites of local funeral homes from Jan. 10 to Jan. 21.

Debra Tunis

Deb approached life like one big adventure, she loved everything about her life on Earth and was an inspiration to everyone she met. Armed with bright red lipstick, dazzling blue eyes and sense of humor, she was not one to sit idle and let life pass by, she was a dancer, an actor, a yogi, a photographer and a motivational speaker.

She would light up a room and in an instant her enthusiasm and humor would have you smiling. Her greatest joy was her time on the beach in Ludington, Michigan with her family doing handstands in the Lake and capturing the beauty of Northern Michigan and her beautiful granddaughters through her camera lenses. Peacefully, she went on to be with the lord on 1-15-2014 and will join her father and sister in rest. However, we suspect she will be dancing in the Heavens and enjoying a bird's eye view of her beloved family.

Deb was cherished by her husband, John Tunis; her mother, Ruth Moran; her sisters, Nancie Rodems, Kathy Moran; and brother, Chuck Moran. Loving aunt to Hannah Koegler. She was an extraordinary mother to Robert Bonnell, Rebecca Altounian, Sam Rohr, and Ryan Tunis, and their spouses, Marty Altounian and Kendra Komp. Her love for her grandaughters, Sophia Altounian and Ava Altounian will never end.

The family plans to celebrate her life in Ludington, Michigan on the beach in July. Donations will be accepted in her name to the Brighton Art Guild in Brighton.
