Talk About Town: Have You Changed Your Driving Habits Due to I-96 Shooter?

What alternate routes are you taking?

Police are searching for a gunman who is suspected of more than 20 shootings along the I-96 corridor, which has some drivers possibly using alternate routes to and from work.

Patch reader Tracy Anderson commented on a story from Monday where, after an investigation, an incident near Brighton is now believed to have been from a rock rather than a bullet.

“I think the state should give us gas vouchers to take a more safe alternative route,” Anderson wrote. “I won't even allow my grandchildren to visit as this is the main throughway. Sad one man has this much control.”

So, Hartland Patch wants to know: With the I-96 shooter still at large, have you changed your driving habits over the past week?

I drive to Livonia monday thru friday for work and although I am nervous about the shooter, I have not changed my route (23 to 96 east). It is scary, but I hate to have one person have so much control over how I get to work. The alternate route of Grand River takes way too long. I have thought of 23 to 14east, but that adds time as well....Hopefully they catch him soon!

Please do not answer this here. No need to advertise the directions or places you may be found. If you say yes or no that is fine nothing more. Safety concerns here.

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.
