Was MJR Right to Ban Costume-Clad Guests Following the Colorado Shooting?

The owner of MJR Partridge Creek Digital Cinema said guests wearing masks or costumes will no longer be permitted into theaters, effective July 20.

Responding to the tragic shooting Thursday at a movie theater in Colorado, the owner of MJR Theaters said or masks to movies, regardless of showtime.

Mike Mihalich told the Detroit News Friday that the new policy would become effective immediately.

The policy comes less than 24 hours after a 24-year-old gunman opened fire during a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in a movie theater near Denver, killing 12 people and injuring dozens more, according to a Detroit News report.

Tired of rules imposed on the majority for the actions of the minority. Although I personally think the idea of wearing a costume to the movies is silly!

We should also stop riding in cars because way more people get killed in car accidents than by crazy shooters. Freak incidents and accidents happen. We can't let them rule our lives.

MJR Theaters, which has nine movie complexes in southeastern Michigan, will no longer allow patrons to wear costumes or masks to movies, owner Mike Mihalich said Friday. "We're not going to permit any masks or costumes from this day forward," he said.
My thoughts: Why didn't he think of this before? Politely informing a man with an AK or AR not to dress up in a costume as he's murdering everyone in cold blood will SURLY help. #CranialRectitus

Hey Mike... December is going to be rough on you. Can you even image how many weapons the guy in the mall dressed as Santa might have hidden in that big red suit? What's next... Ya gonna outlaw Santa?

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.
