36-year-old Man in Serious Condition After Suspected Hit and Run in Pinckney

Jeffrey Coffelt was found in the eastbound lane of Patterson Lake Road early this morning.

A 36-year-old man was found lying in the eastbound lane of Patterson Lake Road in Pinckney early this morning after being struck by an unknown driver, according to a press release from the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. 

Police say they received a call at approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 13 and after arriving on scene found Jeffrey Coffelt in the road, approximately 200 feet east of Cedar Lake Road.

Coffelt, who had been walking home after leaving the Damn Site Inn, according to the report, suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle and was transported to the University of Michigan hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department is seeking any information regarding a yellow Ford F-150 style pick-up with a “honeycomb” grille that has suffered recent front end damage.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the Pinckney Police Department, Livingston County EMS and the Putnam Township Fire Department.
