Hartland Accident Sends Four People to Hospital

Five people were injured during Monday's multi-vehicle accident in Hartland that sent four adults to the hospital.

Five people were injured during Monday's multi-vehicle accident in Hartland that sent four adults to the hospital, according to a report from the Michigan State Police–Brighton Post.

Police say Mark Brewer, 24, of Detroit was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with three passengers in the car and was stopped in the east bound lane of M-59 waiting to turn left when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2009 Ford Taurus, driven by 47-year-old Jeffery Callaghan of Hartland. The report said Callaghan failed to stop.

According to the report, Brewer lost control of his vehicle and traveled into the west bound lanes of M-59 and collided with a 2007 Chevrolet, driven by Robert Donner, 63-years-old, of Howell.

Brewer’s vehicle then continued to travel east in the west bound lane, colliding with a 2008 Ford Ranger pickup, driven by Tyler Ross, 21, of Williamston, according to the report.

Injuries were reported by Brewer and his three adult passengers, according to the report and were transported by Livingston County EMS to Genysis Hospital.

Police say Callaghan sought his own treatment for his injuries, and Donner and Ross reported no injuries.

Agencies responding to the crash scene were the Michigan State Police – Brighton Post, Livingston County Sheriff Department, Hartland Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.
