Update: Traffic Now Clear After Car Fire on U.S. 23

Commuters were delayed this morning after a car fire blocked lanes on U.S. 23.

Traffic has now cleared on U.S. 23 Northbound after a car fire blocked both lanes on the highway in Brighton around 8 a.m. this morning.

The car fire was reported before Exit 58/Lee Road and traffic was stopped from M-36/Exit 54 in Whitmore Lake, according to WXYZ.

Reader Janee Skomial alerted Patch to the incident and sent us the photo of the car fire (right).

Were you stuck in traffic? Tell us how bad it was in the comments below. Or send us a photo to tatum.ryan@patch.com.

Rather be stuck in traffic than what must have happened to the poor person(s) in the car on fire. Hope they are not hurt too badly.
