Donation Jars Stolen from Hartland Speedway

Police say two donation jars for the Children's Miracle Network were stolen from the Hartland gas station on Sunday.

Two donation jars for the Children's Miracle Network were stolen from the Hartland Speedway on Sunday night, according to a report from the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.

Police say a man walked into the Hartland gas station alone at 8:51 p.m. on Oct. 27 and left at 9:01 p.m. Employees say that video showed the suspect stealing two of the three donation jars set up in the store.

Employees told police the suspect may have been faking a phone call, pretending to be asking how many pizzas he should order and then asked an employee whether the ovens were on.

According to the report, employees say the question was "weird" because most people don't know the ovens are only off on Sundays for cleaning.

Police say the suspect wore his hoodie up the whole time and also has a neck tattoo.
