Crime Report: Unknown Male Enters Home in Hartland

Burglary- Forced Entry

On Thursday, a Hartland man reported that at approximately 4:20 p.m., a blue model Saturn was parked in his driveway in the 1300 block of Honolulu Court in Hartland with a female driver inside. 

According to the police report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s office, the man said he approached the woman, asking her why she was parked in his driveway. She replied that the house belonged to her boyfriend’s cousin. He advised her it did not and entered his house where he found a male exiting his bedroom.

After exchanging some words, the Hartland man checked his bedroom while the male suspect ran from the scene.

According to the report, the suspect entered the residence through an unlocked front door. Reported items stolen include three men's watches estimated at $300 each, $550 in cash, a yellow gold and diamond ring, estimated at $3,000, a diamond necklace estimated at $3,000, a tennis bracelet estimated at $1,200, an opal heart necklace estimated at $200, a heavy gold chain estimated at $300 and other costume jewelry estimated at $1,000.

Larceny

On Sunday, a Brighton man reported that between 3 p.m. May 25 and 8:30 a.m. May 27, items had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle on the 2000 block of Stonecrest Drive in Brighton.

According to the police report, an iPod, valued at $100 and brown and gold knife, valued at $30, were reported stolen. 

Larceny from Building

On Sunday, a Brighton man reported that between 11 p.m. May 26 and 8:30 a.m. May 27, items had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle that had been parked in his garage on the 11000 block of Newman Road in Brighton. 

According to the police report, a portable XM radio, estimated at $100, and a Motorola cell phone docking station, estimated at $50, were stolen from the vehicle.

Motor Vehicle Theft 

On Monday, a Brighton woman reported that between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. May 28, her van had been stolen from the 2000 block of Pleasant Street in Brighton.

According to the police report, the woman had last seen her van, a 2003 Ford Windstar at 3:30 a.m. which had been parked in front of her trailer.
