Fowlerville Couple Report Assault, Items Stolen in Brighton and Hartland

A Fowlerville couple reported that they were assaulted and a rifle was reported stolen by two unknown assailants on Nov. 19, according to a report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.

Police say the male victim had walked outside his residence on the 10000 block of Alans Drive in Handy Township, holding an unloaded shotgun to investigate what sounded like gunfire outside his home around 11 p.m.

After confronting two male suspects on his property, the male victim told them he had a shotgun, according to the report, and raised the gun across his body.

One of the suspects reportedly then grabbed the shotgun by the barrel and punched the male victim in the face and took the shotgun.

The female victim then confronted the suspects and according to the report, was grabbed by her shoulder and neck area by one of the suspects.

Police say the male victim then stepped between the two, breaking them up and the suspects left the area, initially leaving the scene in different directions and then meeting up again father away from the residence. The suspects took the shotgun with them, according to the report.

The male victim suffered a small laceration on his lower lip, according to the report.

Construction Equipment Stolen

On Nov. 26, construction equipment from Decorative Concrete Design in Brighton was reported stolen, according to a report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department. 

Police say the owner arrived at work at 8 a.m. and noticed that a trailer containing an excavator and jackhammer, valued at more than $42,000, were missing.

The equipment was last seen on Nov. 23, according to the report.

Items stolen from Hartland garage

On Nov. 11, items were reported stolen from a garage on 12000 block of Sleigh Trail in Hartland between the hours of 11 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 10 a.m. on Nov. 10, according to a police report. 

The garage is unattached to the home and the homeowner told police the garage is always locked, but he found the walk-in door unlocked the morning of the incident.

Items reported stolen included two mountain bikes, valued at $8,500, a road bike valued at $2,500, a Titelist set of golf clubs valued at $4,000, a portable DVD player valued at $200 and a portable generator valued at $1,100.

There were no signs of forced entry, according to the report.

More than $20,000 worth of jewelry reported stolen from Fenton home 

A Fenton woman reported that more than $20,000 worth of jewelry was reported stolen from her home on the 7000 block of Runyan Lake Road, according to a police report.

Police say the suspect appeared to have broken a window of the master bedroom to gain entry into the residence and then proceeded to ransack the house for money and jewelry only.

The victim also reported a penny collection, valued at $300, was missing as well as currency from foreign countries, according to the report.

Plasma TV stolen from a travel trailer in Hartland

A Hartland woman reported that a plasma TV was stolen from her travel trailer between Nov. 5 and Nov. 19, according to a police report.

Police say the trailer, which was parked in the driveway of the 12000 block of Golden Oaks Drive, had been locked and unlocked over the past few weeks for winterization.

There were no signs of forced entry, according to the report.
