High School Student Charged in School Fight Enters Plea

The Hartland High School student charged after attacking another student in a fight posted on the internet has entered a plea in court, according to reports.

A Hartland High School student charged with aggravated assault has plead guilty to a lesser charge of assault and battery.

An article on WHMI states that the charges stemmed from an incident in March, and that the teen will appear back in Livingston County Juvenile Court for a disposition hearing Aug. 23.

The fight, which was caught on video, made the news earlier this year after one of the girls involved appeared on a local news station.

A video posted on Facebook by a third student shows a female student grabbing the back of another girl's hair, throwing her to the ground and punching her until an adult steps in to stop the attack.

Both students were in ninth grade at Hartland High School.

According to the mother of one of the girls involved, the incident took place during her daughter’s fifth hour class with the teacher in the classroom. Her daughter's nose was broken and she also received a concussion from the beating.

Sheriff Bob Bezotte said at the time, that the attack came after the girl who ended up with the broken nose made fun of the other girl for a personal situation that she was discussing with another person.
