Police Briefs: 300 Pennies, Headset Microphone Stolen From Area Church

The following arrest information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Some 300 pennies in a jar and a headset microphone were reported stolen during a break-in at in Genoa Township, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.

A woman who opened the church on New Year's Day for services told police she discovered doors left open and that the pastor's office had been rifled through. A window was later found broken and a door unlocked, according to a police report.

Police believe the break-in occurred between Dec. 29 and New Year's Day. Anyone with information can call the sheriff's department tip line at 517-546-8477.

Woman arrested at Walmart over shirt, pants

A 23-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday on the suspicion of stealing a $12 pair of yoga pants and a $3 shirt from the in Hartland, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.

Police said the woman, who had no ID on her but later told authorities she was from Florida, was seen putting the pants in her purse behind the changing rooms and then attempted to leave when she was confronted by Walmart employees.

The woman, who later told police she also had stolen a shirt, was taken to the Livingston County Jail. Both items were returned to Walmart.
