Police Brief: Hartland Restaurant Reports Break-in

The following arrest information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police are seeking a man they say was caught on video camera breaking into the in Hartland and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male with a muscular build, dark hair and with a skull tattoo on his right bicept, according to a Livingston County Sheriff's report. The suspect was wearing a camouflage shorts and hoodie, the report said.

Police say the break-in occurred in the early morning hours of Aug. 23 at the business, located at 10594 E. Highland Rd. It was reported after an employee entering the building at about 6:30 a.m. discovered the cash register pried open and a mess in the restaurant's office, the report said. The rear door also had been pried open, it said.

Police, who continue to investigate the incident, had no further comment about the break-in Wednesday.

There was in early November, which was one in a series of thefts to occur at several businesses in the Hartland Township's main commercial corridor in the fall of 2010 that police believed at the time were related.
