Suspect Walks Away While Waiting for Police to Arrive at Hartland Walmart

The following information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

After attempting to steal several articles of clothing from the Hartland Walmart, a woman was detained for one hour waiting for police to arrive before walking outside and leaving, according to a report from the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.

Police say the suspect was seen taking several clothing items and putting them in her purse by a Walmart employee. The suspect then moved to the baby department where she put infant clothing into her shopping cart, which, according to the report, the suspect paid for.

According to the report however, the suspect did not attempt to pay for the items hidden in her purse before leaving the store and she was then stopped and questioned by a Walmart employee.
