Homeless Teens Arrested After Attempted Break-In

The following information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Three homeless teenagers, two 19-year-olds and a 17-year-old, were arrested on Tuesday morning after an attempted break-in on the 800 block of Hacker Road, according to a report from the Livingston County Sheriff's department.

Two of the young males are also suspected of stealing items, including condoms and food, from the  around 6 a.m. that morning, according to the report.

Police said they responded to a 911 call from a Howell man who told a dispatcher someone had broken a window and was attempting to enter his home while he was inside.

When police arrived, they found one of the suspects standing the driveway, according to the report and two suspects in a car parked in the victim's driveway.

According to the report, the teens tried to break into the house looking for more items to steal as well as shelter since they are homeless. Police also found suspected marijuana and a pipe used to smoke marijuana in the vehicle, according to the report.

Police say the suspects may have walked through other neighborhoods attempting to steal items from unlocked cars and may have also stolen a wheel from a nearby barn several days before.

The three teens were taken into custody for attempted home invasion as well as possession of marijuana and the car was impounded, according to the report.

Do we know if these teens are the same people that have robbed local churches?

So it was teens robbing the churches? Hadn't heard any updates on the church break-ins.

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.
