The seat is an elected position and the term expires in June 2012. The district follows the same lines of the Hartland School District and consists of six townships: Brighton, Deerfield, Genoa, Hartand, Oceola, and Tyrone.

The board, which wants to fill the seat at its July 28 meeting, is especially looking for residents who live outside of Hartland Township, according to a vacancy flier.

The biggest issue in recent months has been the maintaining library services while facing falling revenues as a result of falling property tax collections. So far, no major service reductions have been made to the upcoming year.

Preference is given to applications received by July 5, the news release said.Β  They can be downloaded from the library website (www.cromaine.org) or a copy can be picked up at either the or branches, the release said.
