Hartland Residents Question Low Voter Turn Out in Tuesday's Election

The Hartland Consolidated Schools non-homestead renewal proposal was approved on Tuesday with only 10.48 percent voter turn out for the day.

Hartland residents approved the Hartland Consolidated Schools non-homestead renewal proposal on Tuesday, but with only 10.48 percent of the residents voting, some Patch readers questioned the low voter turn out for the day.

“Sad that the turn-out was so low from our community, particularly from parents with school age children. Says something about our priorities.

“Precinct 3 had only 66 people vote. We are lucky that those not wanting this tax on businesses and vacant land didn't organize otherwise the schools would have had to cut programs, hours and maybe teachers,” Hartland Patch reader “Clyde Rd dust survivor" wrote on the Hartland Patch page.
