Livingston County Democratic Committee Chairman from Hartland Steps Down

Local resident Dane Morris is elected as vice-chair.

Hartland lost and gained a voice within the leadership of the Livingston County Democratic Committee as one Hartland resident resigned as chair but another was elected vice-chair to fill another vacancy.

Jordan Genso said he was stepping down as chair to spend more time on his real estate career and upcoming marriage while Dane Morris was elected to replace Kelly Raskauskas in the No. 2 spot.

“I have had a wonderful experience serving as chair, but increased personal responsibilities mean I will no longer have the time required to properly fulfill the role,” Genso said in a news release.

Genso's big issue while leading the committee was representing it during the county reapportionment process, the release said.

Judy Daubenmier of Genoa Township was elected to replaced Genso for a the term that expires at the end of 2012, the release said. Daubenmier served as party chair from 2008-2010. She said the committee's main focus next year will be the national, statewide and local elections.

The term for Morris, who was in 2010, also would be through next year.
