Looking for Something to Do This Spring? Check Out Pure Michigan

The website features upcoming spring and summer activities throughout the state.

By Cindy Denby

Spring is officially here! The start of the warm weather is the perfect time to take advantage of all the things to do here in Michigan. Make sure you check out the Pure Michigan website as you plan your upcoming activities for spring and summer. You can find lists of events, places to go and outdoor activities you and your family are bound to enjoy.

The MI Department of Natural Resources also has a free new mobile app to help connect residents with Michigan's recreational opportunities. The Michigan camping and recreation location app has a multitude of features designed to simplify your planning for a camping or boating outing. The app allows you to find camping, outdoor recreation, and boat launch locations. You can search by area and it will show you a map or list with all the boat launches and camping locations in your desired area. The app also has click-to-call phone numbers to easily contact the park or boat launch, as well as the park size, site features, and site activities. For more information on the app, or to download it, visit www.michigan.gov/campandreclocator. I know I am looking forward to all that spring in Michigan has to offer and I hope this information helps you to enjoy them as well!

Summer weather in Michigan means "construction season" is here and the Michigan Department of Transportation is reminding residents that their website can help people figure out which roads and routes to avoid this year. The website already offers real-time updates on construction projects across the state, and now it has an easy to use sharing feature.  This feature allows residents to share real-time traffic reports by linking them to your social media accounts or website with an easy one-click button located at the top of the page. There also is a linking option to allow a location to be easily bookmarked for quick access. This will be a great resource for busy residents as road projects begin.
