On the Agenda: Class of 2011 to Shine With Honors Night, Graduation

Township, school boards and Hartland Area Community Council meet this week.

This is the week of tassels, tributes and tears as members of Hartland High School's Class of 2011 will take a bow Tuesday at honors night and walk on Thursday in graduation ceremonies.

Honors night is 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the , 9525 E. Highland Rd while graduation is 7 p.m. at Compuware Arena in Plymouth Township.

But there's also plenty of community meetings going on as well. Here's a roundup:

  • 6:30 p.m. Monday the Hartland Board of Education meets at the Educational Support Service Center. The agenda includes an update of activities at .
  • 7 p.m. Monday the meets in the media room at , 3250 Hartland Rd. The group is likely to discuss how Memorial Day celebration, which it organizes.
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday the Hartland Township Board meets at , 2655 Clark Rd. The agenda includes work session discussion on preparing to review the township manager, staff compensation and benefits and strategic planning.

And there are still some student athletes competing, too. Here's a quick summary:

  • The boys golf team competes Thursday in regionals at Oaks Golf Course in Wixom. The top three teams and top three individuals not on qualifying teams advance to the state finals.
  • After both winning district titles over the weekend, Hartland softball and baseball teams will compete Saturday at the regional competition in Oxford. Both teams face Romeo.
