The Michigan Legislature on Friday approved a bill allowing those with additional training to carry concealed weapons into venues such as schools, day care centers, churches and sports stadiums,Β according to WDIV-TV in Detroit.

The debate over carrying guns in schools was compounded Friday with news that a gunman killed at least 27 people, including 18 students, at an elementary school in Newtown, CT,Β according to Newtown Patch.Β
