UPDATED: Single-Lane Closure for U.S. 23 in Hartland Moved to Saturday

A lane shift is expected Friday for work along the highway south of Brighton.

The rainy weather has delayed a single-lane closure on northbound U.S. 23 between Crouse and Clyde roads to 8 p.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Sunday, MDOT has announced.

The closure, which is necessary for maintenance repairs, was originally going to be from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, according to an email from MDOT.

In addition, Friday night there will be a traffic shift along northbound US 23 at the Huron River bridge south of Brighton. As part of this traffic shift, the two northbound lanes will be shifted to the left lane and shoulder, MDOT said. A barrier wall be installed along the right lane. This will allow crews to work on the bridge.

Nighttime single-lane closures will continue along this stretch of US 23 from Lee and Silver Lake roads, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. Daytime work will take place in the median, MDOT said.
