On the ballot is whether to renew an 18-mill non-homestead tax for one year. This would generate $4.8 million for the Hartland School District and has been in place since 1995. It is levied against businesses, vacant land and second homes.
Also before voters is filling an open seat on the Hartland Board of Education. Cynthia Kenrick of Hartland Township is the only name on the ballot. She would replace the spot held by Elsie McPherson-Brown, who she would not to seek re-election.
