Good Morning Hartland — The Back-to-School Edition

Check out the weather, fuel prices and more for Sept. 6, 2011.

Welcome back Hartland schools. Here are five tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

And remember always included in this Monday through Friday feature is a video (at right) from someone wishing every one "good morning" as part of a message to our community. This week, also look for more back-to-school themed greetings.

1. The weather

There's a definite fall-like chill in the air as mostly cloudy skies will dominate while the high will reach about 63 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There will be a chilly north-northeast wind between 8 and 16 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 24 mph, according to the forecast. Temperatures will fall to a low of 51 tonight until mostly cloudy skies and continued wind.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com

  • : $3.84
  • : $3.95
  • Shell: $4.05
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.68 at the Mobil station at N. LeRoy and S. Long Lake.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.79 at Citgo, 1050 E Grand River and O’Doherty Rd.

3. BIGGBY Coffee offering back-to-school special

From an email from Denise Bogues of in Hartland: "Are you ready for school to start up this week? Need some extra energy?
