Lakes Elementary Hosts 15th Annual First Grade Holiday Sing

Parents, family and friends watch as first grade class performs mix of holiday tunes.

The gymnasium was standing room only with a crowd of more than 200 on Tuesday when the school's four first grade classes took to the raisers and performed 19 holiday favorites at the 15th Annual First Grade Holiday Sing.

Adorned in Santa, reindeer or elf costumes, the boys and girls of the Class of 2022 sang traditional favorites "Jungle Bells," "Silent Night," "O Chanukah," and "African Noel." The play list also featured the Caribbean themed "Christmas Comin'" and crowd favorite "Gee up, Little Donkey."

The children spend several weeks practicing for the performance, led by Lakes music teacher Jason Eaton. Eaton praised the children for their hard work, and he also thanked their parents.

"Thank you for listening to your children sing these songs over and over again," Eaton said, laughing.
