Our Savior Open House Scheduled

On Sunday, August 12, in Hartland will host a campus-wide Open House, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. School teaching staff, the Principal, and church Elders will be on hand to answer questions and provide tours of the facilities. Parent-Teacher League representatives will provide refreshments and offer a parent perspective.

“We invite all families to come out, see our facilities, and meet with our teachers,” said Principal Andrea Johnson. “Parents are also welcome to review our curriculum and ask questions about our educational philosophy.”

Our Savior School offers a comprehensive academic curriculum and students consistently receive high scores on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills assessment.  The test results for the 2011/2012 academic year showed that the students overall average composite score was in the ninetieth percentile, meaning that the students scored higher than 90 percent of students taking the test nationwide.  The eighth grade class alone received an impressive overall composite score in the ninety-ninth percentile.

“We have small class sizes and bring students of similar age groups together for non-primary classes, while maintaining a Christian worldview,” said Principal Johnson. “This structure, which is similar to a home-school environment, has proven to be a success for a student’s academic, spiritual, and emotional development.”

Our Savior Lutheran School is a ministry of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, a Missouri Synod (English District) congregation located at 13667 W. Highland Road (M-59) in Hartland, 3 miles east of US-23. The school is accredited by the National Lutheran School Association.
