Hartland started the game fast and ran away with a 4-0 lead. The defense worked hard and turned the Huron offense away by collapsing on attack players.  Hartland junior goalie, Tabitha Ferguson, continued her hot streak by turning away shots and building on an impressive season to date.

Hartland’s offense was on display in the first half. They continued to move the ball well all over the field and continued to be diverse in the scoring column.  Most teams have a couple of girls who score a majority of the teams goals.  Hartland has managed to produce five, six, or seven scorers every game.  It makes the opposing teams really focus on stopping the WHOLE team.

Rachael Sharpe and Courtney Lee helped with two goals each.  Ashley Collins, Natalie Sochaki, and Jessica Gust added to the final total by contributing with a goal a-piece.

At half time, Hartland led 13-5. They dominated a highly touted opponent.  They came out of the half and struggled.  Huron mounted an attack that caught Hartland off guard.  The defense looked tired at times, but controlling the draw became an issue.  Hartland couldn’t control the ball which led to Huron making an impressive comeback a real possibility.

A timeout was called, some adjustments were made, and Hartland regained its identity. They worked hard on the draw and maintained possession late in the game. Huron made an impressive run, but Hartland maintained composure and ball control to close out the game for a 17-14 win.
