Hartland Eagles 'Flying' Through Winter Sports Season

High school boys defeated by Grand Blanc, girls win, in varsity basketball.

Hartland boys and girls basketball update
The varsity boys basketball team fell to 0-14 overall and to 0-9 in the KLAA West Division of the Lakes Conference after a 71-54 loss to Grand Blanc on Tuesday.

Grant Clopenstein scored 10 points, including six on three-pointers, to lead the Eagles. Michael Parks had nine points, hitting on 7-of-9 free throws, and Nicholas Englehart had eight points.

The Hartland girls won big against Grand Blanc, 55-26. They are 12-3 overall.

HARTLAND SKI UPDATE
The Hartland boys ski team (1-8) came within one point of winning its second meet of the season, losing to Novi 18-19 on Tuesday at Alpine Valley. Low score wins.

Rocky Crotty led the Hartland boys with a second-place overall finish. He had a combined time of 40.82 seconds. He finished the giant slalom in 18.96 and the slalom in 21.83. Teammate Cameron Wheeler placed fourth with a combined time of 42.88. He had a giant slalom time of 19.99 and a slalom time of 22.89.

The boys also lost to Brother Rice 10-34. Grant Comly led the Eagles with a sixth-place finish with a combined time of 44.18 seconds. He had a giant slalom time of 19.82 and a time of 24.36 in the slalom.

The Hartland girls were paced by Rhianna Dilworth’s first-place performance against Novi, but the girls still lost 14-25 at Alpine Valley on Tuesday. Dilworth had a time of 19.85 in the giant slalom and a time of 22.82 in the slalom, earning a combined time of 42.67.

The girls also lost to Marion on Tuesday, 11-34.

Dilworth led the Eagles in that meet as well, taking fourth overall with a time of 43.26. She had a time of 19.91 in the giant slalom and a time of 23.35 in the slalom.
