The Hartland golf team came away with their first win on Wednesday at Dunham Hills with an ending score of 156-169.
"I was very proud of our guys for being consistent and steady in our first match of the year," golf coach Nathan Oake wrote in an email. "I was especially happy for freshman Bryce Messner who shot 39 in his first varsity competition, and for senior Derek Andreen for shooting 40 in the first varsity competition of his senior year.
"I paired these two together hoping for the best, and they kept each other upbeat and positive all day long.

"Howell is a very solid golf team, who we will certainly have to work hard to compete with next week and in the post season tournaments. Coach Billups has done a terrific job with his program."
