The 2013 Michigan High School Boardercross State Finals were held at Alpine Valley on Friday.  Teams from the East and West leagues in Michigan competed in some of the best snow conditions in the last two seasons, thanks to Winter Storm Nemo.

There was no shortage of close races and big crashes. Several riders were taken off the course and taken to nearby Huron Valley hospital for crash related injuries.

After Districts, Regional's and Individual Time trials Livingston County teams fared well. The West Division was able to qualify three teams in a five- team competition in both the Ladies and Boys divisions. In the Individual rounds for the Ladies, an all Livingston County finals took place.

Riders from Pinckney, Hartland, Brighton and Howell all won their way into the Championship round with Pinckney's Mikala Cox coming out the victor and Hartland's Hannah Hasbrouck (last year's Champion) hot on her heals.

For the Boys, it was well on it's way to a photo finish between DCC's McGorisk, OLSM's Strzelewicz and Hartland's Dylan Tierney until Tierney caught an edge and crashed at the finish line. He recovered quickly to "hop" his way over the finish line just ahead of Pinckney's Eric Linn to finis third and fourth, respectively.

For the first time in league history, this was an all West Division Ladies final.
