Hartland Volleyball Player Commits to College

Lynsie Giroux signs Letter of Intent for Bethel College.

Surrounded by her future teammates, Hartland senior Lynsie Giroux signed her letter of intent to play volleyball at Bethel College after high school.

The smaller campus size of Bethel College, which is located in Indiana, was something Giroux said she was looking for when choosing her future school. But it was the coach and players, according to Giroux, who made her feel at home that helped make Giroux’s decision to become a future Pilot.

“They treated me like I was already part of the team, which was great,” Giroux said.

Seeing her play in a tournament last spring in Louisville, KY, Bethel College coach Kevin Ulmer said he noticed Giroux’s athleticism and her ability to make plays.

“She’s kind of everywhere at once,” Ulmer said. “She’s a very driven individual and wants to make her team better.”

Calling her a “consistent player” Ulmer says Giroux’s strengths include her outside hitting.

“She is one of those players that we will count on to win games for us,” he said.

Looking forward to her last year with the Eagles, Giroux says she is excited for this year’s team.

“This is the first year where I feel like our team is going to go really far,” she said. “I feel like our team is very good this year.”

The next game for the Hartland girl’s volleyball team will be a home game on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m against Pinkney.
