HAYAA Cheer Team Wins Gold

Here at Patch, we love to regularly spotlight young people in the Hartland community who are successful, talented and just plain awesome.

But we need your help. We know those kids are out there doing great things for and in the community, so let us know about them so we can help spread the word.

Today we feature the HAYAA freshman cheer team who won gold medals at a recent competition.

  • Introduction: The HAYAA freshman black cheer team includes Fiona Blush, Bria Mayer, Ryan Schaecher, Annabelle Bernardi, Lily Pies, Amelie Jedele, Julia Harris, Madeline Turcotte, Evelyn Clark, Abby Jordan, Annabelle Barber and Brianna Chodyniecki. Coached by Brenda Blush, Sarah Mayer, Shelley Pies and Katie Schaecher.
  • Achievement: The Hartland freshman black team won gold medals for both Cheer and Pom at the LCACC 2013 Cheer and Pom Festival which was held at Webberville High School.
  • Keys to awesomeness: "Winning double gold medals took a lot of hard work and dedication, but this group of third and fourth graders pulled together as a team and were outstanding," according to coach
    Brenda Blush.
Do you know a local young person who deserves applause because he or she shovels the elderly neighbors' driveway? Or perhaps athletic achievements are worth sharing. Everyone deserves attention, and we want to tell these stories. Email nominations to local editor Tatum Ryan at tatum.ryan@patch.com, provide the information shown above and include a photo with names and ages.
