The Hartland girls basketball team wins with a final score of 51-44.

The Hartland girls basketball team came out with a win on Wednesday night against Novi with a score of 51-44 during the consolation game in the KLAA Tournament at .

The lady Eagles played tough and physical in a game that remained close in score throughout much of the play time. At half time, however, the Eagles were in the lead with a score of 19-14 and never looked back.

During the second half, the Eagles began to pull away and gain the momentum and in the end, according to coach Don Palmer, it came down to experience.

“I think it was a quality win,” Palmer said. “Novi ended their season 15 and 5 and they won their division, so they played pretty tough tonight. We had to earn everything we got and I think it got down to, we had a couple senior guards and their guards were a bit younger, although their guards played very well.”

Junior Cassidy Porta and senior Bailee Maggert were the leading scorers for the Eagles with 13 points each.
