Hartland golf missed the win by one stroke on Wednesday night with a final score of Howell 159- Hartland 160, according to an email from coach Nathan Oake.

"This was a tremendous match right down to the final putt," Oake wrote. "Our top four guys went two under on their final two holes to pull ahead in the match, but Howell's Sean Martin in the final pairing eagled the 17th hole and made a nice up and down par on #18 to swing the match by a single stroke.

"This was a good lesson in the value of every single stroke and it's importance. Howell outplayed us today, but I was still pleased with our efforts on a tough Faulkwood Shores course. We will hope to rebound against Milford tomorrow."
