Sports Talk: March Madness — The Hartland Version

Which Eagle team will soar the highest?

You might have seen our Moms Talk on Wednesdays this past month. Today, we're going to try something new: Sports Talk — a forum where those who cover Hartland's teams will discuss a question either on local, state or national sports and we hope you join in with your opinion.

Today's discussion: We're focusing on high school playoffs for this winter. Some teams are already done while others have yet to start the playoffs. To get things going, here's a status update of most teams (Feel free to add any that we missed during the discussion):

Sport Status Boys basketball starts districts March 7 against Howell after the team finishes the conference tournament 7 p.m. Thursday against South Lyon. Girls basketball in districts to play 7 p.m. Wednesday vs. Lakeland at Hartland High School. Boys and girls boardercross

each in the state tournament on Feb. 11.

Competitive cheer missed the state finals by fewer than four points, after winning districts and numerous other accolades during the season. Boys hockey takes the ice for at pre-regional game 7 p.m. Tuesday against Walled Lake Northern at the Hartland Sports Center.

Boys swimming and diving . The state tournament is March 11-12. Boys wrestling finished in the top 4 of Division 1 by advancing to the semifinals Saturday, but . Seven Hartland wrestlers will be competing this weekend for individual championships.
