A Delightful Goody Basket of Holiday Cheer!

Dionysus Theatre's debut production, Home for the Holidays, receives great reviews from critics and audiences alike! PLUS, a ticket deal for the remainder of the run!

"What do you get when you mix two dozen familiar and not-so-familiar holiday tunes, a dozen-plus beautiful voices, a talented combo, and a handful of plot threads that would warm the heart of the meanest Scrooge?  The answer is 'Home for the Holidays,' the debut production of The Dionysus Theatre." - Donald V. Calamia, Encore Michigan.

Dionysus Theatre's debut professional production opened on December 7 to fantastic reviews from the critics and audiences alike, and we couldn't be prouder!  The show, Home for the Holidays - an Original Musical, was written right here in Livingston County and it's been amazing to see it come to life onstage, and furthermore, to see families enjoying our story.

We were happy to receive some great reviews from Patch's Angie Lai who says our production is "a sign of good things to come.  Audiences should appreciate they have chosen to become a part of the developing arts scene here in Michigan."  And, Donald V. Calamia of Encore Michigan, the go to source for professional theatre in the State calls the show "a delightful goody basket of holiday cheer."

We're happy to be running through December 23 at the new Hartland High School Auditorium, with a cast of exceptionally talented professional actors and singers!  And, if that isn't enough, we have a great ticket deal for parents!  When you buy one regular adult ticket for any show, one child age 5 to 12 can see the show for FREE!  Kids will have the chance to chat with Santa and Mrs. Claus after each performance in the lobby of the theatre!  My 6 year old niece saw the show twice this weekend, and loved it.  She couldn't take her eyes off of the actors on stage, laughing and singing along through the whole show...she plans to be at each performance this coming weekend too!  The show is perfect holiday entertainment for your entire family!

About the show:

When the cast of Home for the Holidays gathers for their Christmas Eve performance, Stage Manager, Nick and his wife expect a smooth evening of seasonal fun.  What they get is a leading... lady who has locked herself in her dressing room, her understudy who isn’t quite up to the job, and a leading man whose holiday spirit is closer to that of the Grinch than Kris Kringle.  This original musical takes you backstage with the cast, as Nick tries to reinstate their faith in the holidays with a lot of Christmas spirit and a touch of magic.  The whole family will love this salute to family and friends, and good old fashioned, holiday joy!  Featuring over 20 of your favorite holiday tunes, you’re guaranteed to leave the theatre singing the praises of being “home for the holidays”!  Runtime is approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes including a 15 minute intermission.

We are so very proud to be a part of the Livingston County community and hope to be here for many years to come, producing even more quality theatre entertaiment for young and old alike, but we can't do that without your support!  Please consider bringing your family to see "Home for the Holidays" this season, and support professional theatre in Livingston County!  For more info or to purchase tickets, please visit www.diotheatre.com or call (517) 672-6009.

See you at the theatre!
