The Gia Warner Band Comes to Hartland

Gia Warner will bring her musical talents to the Cromaine library's final summer concert this Wednesday evening.

You may have heard the voice of Detroit artist Gia Warner over the radio or television in commercials for Gardner White or Greektown Casino, but on Wednesday night, Hartland residents will have the opportunity to hear that voice live and in person.

Warner, part of the Gia Warner Band, will be performing during the final summer concert series for the Cromaine library from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the front lawn of the village location.

The veteran singer, whose father was a Motown musician, grew up with music and has played many different live venues -- large and small-- over the course of her career. This will be the band’s first time in Hartland, however, and the singer says she is looking forward to the intimate feel of the family concert.

"You interact, you laugh, you talk," she said. “Just being able to play music, getting out and performing is always my favorite thing."

Playing a mix of cover songs as well as music from her latest CD, Warner says the classic rock music will be family-friendly and ones that are typically crowd favorites.

“I’ve found that my favorite songs are also other people’s favorite songs,” she said with a laugh.

Having local libraries, such as Cromaine, hosts the concert series is something that Warner says she appreciates and hopes that it helps bring awareness of helping to bring communities together.

“I really like the idea that’s behind it, that the libraries are getting people to come back out,” she said. “Events like this brings back the social aspect of what I think is kind of going away these days.”
