Fireworks Available in Hartland Through July 8

Temporary location will be open daily 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Stocking up on supplies for America’s birthday just got even easier in Hartland with a new temporary firework stand open on M-59.

The florescent yellow trailer in front of the  sells Brothers fireworks and is owned and operated by the Barman family of Hartland.

The trailer opened on Sunday and employee Bruce Carson said business has been good so far.

“A lot of people say they’re so glad they don’t have to go out of state,” Carson said. "Fireworks are entertaining."

Carson also stressed that the 18 locations that sell the Brothers Fireworks, including the Hartland location, are working to keep it safe with their permits and laws plainly posted.

"This has all been inspected and approved," he said. "This is safer than a tent. We have everything posted, we don't sell to minors, you have to be 18 with an ID."

So far, popular sellers have been the rockets, roman candles and firecrackers, according to Norm Barman, who says people want the ones they have been driving out of state for years to get.

But for 9-year-old Zoey, the daughter of owners Norm and Kim Barman, she recommends her favorite firework for the kids-- the Captain Americas.

“Because parachutes come down and they have flags on them,” she said.

Carson agreed that Captain Americas are a popular daytime firework for the younger crowds, and recommended the fountains as well.

"It does really nice things for five minutes," he said. "Really entertaining -- I'm entertained myself."

For Josh Lashbrook of Hartland, however, who considers himself just a big kid, having such a large selection to choose from close to home is what makes him happy.

“It’s nice, I like it,” Lashbrooke said who was shopping for his upcoming 4th of July party.

“Looking for the mortars,” he said. “I like the stuff that goes way up there in the sky and a bunch of little things so it’s a constant show for us.”

Brothers Fireworks has hundreds of items to choose from with prices ranging from 50 cents to $147. The Hartland location will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily through July 8.
